Ongoing: Waveland was a town of nearly 8,000 residents before Hurricane
Katrina devastated the area in August of 2005. Only 35 homes were
habitable after the storm. Six months later, at the onset of Operation:
Waveland, MS the town remained a tent city with
only 40% of the population returned. Assistance with home rebuilding and long-term rehabilataion was the town's greatest need.
Waveland was adopted as Saratoga Springs' domestic sister city. Operation Waveland, MS >

Operation: A Flood of Hope
Aug 2008: The Giving Circle, Inc and the Saratoga Springs Public Library teamed up to assist the Flood of Hope campaign - Helping families who lost everything in the floods in Eastern Iowa.
The Giving Circle donated two laptop computers that were desperately needed by Flood of Hope to coordinate relief efforts, and teamed up with the Saratoga Springs Public Library to collect school supplies for children living in flood-ravaged Vinton, Iowa. details >>

Community: Town of Sidney, Delaware County, NY
August 2006: Many towns in New York's Southern Tier region suffered tremendous damage from floods in the summer of 2006. Although The Giving Circle’s primary focus was Katrina ravaged Waveland, MS, when disaster hit so close to The Giving Circle, Inc's home base of Saratoga Springs, NY, we felt the need to respond. details >>

Operation: A Cajun Christmas
Community: Town of Abbeville, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana
Dec. 2005: The goal of Operation: A Cajun Christmas was to bring hope and joy to the families of Vermilion Parish who suffered widespread devastation from Hurricane Rita. The main focus was to provide gifts for the children around Holiday time. details >>
