October, 2008 Trip to Waveland, MS

PART I: OCT 9-16 A team of nine volunteers from The Giving Circle journeyed to Waveland, Mississippi this long Columbus Day weekend to help in the ongoing hurricane relief efforts of home rebuilding. The team was housed at Camp Salvage, a volunteer run facility in Waveland. We brought with us people of varying skill and experience including two contractors. We worked on four projects which included finishing a water damaged floor, rewiring a dangerously mis-wired home, installing siding, and hanging sheetrock walls and ceilings.

The residents of Waveland, Kiln, and Bay-St. Louis, who were helped by this effort, were very appreciative, and showed this in words and food!. We were treated to a fantastic crab-boil feast at one of the homes. Read/view WLOX broadcast > (Photos below)
