Background Information:
Waveland was a town of nearly 8,000 residents before Hurricane Katrina devastated the area in August of 2005. Only 35 homes were habitable after the storm. Six months later, at the onset of Operation: Waveland, MS the town remained a tent city with only 40% of the population returned. Assistance with home rebuilding and long-term rehabilataion is the town's greatest need.

Volunteer crews from The Giving Circle work with the town of Waveland, the Hancock County EOC and other organizations on home repairs/rebuilding efforts. The Giving Circle continues to address quality of life issues of children and families in Waveland including sposoring events such as the Wellness Festival in Waveland, and the Annual Saratoga Springs Mardi Gras Festival which helps to raise funds and awareness for Waveland.
