***GOOD NEWS!! UPDATE: 10/1/06***

I had some great news I wanted to share with you.  I  AM NO LONGER HOMELESS!!!  I am currently living in a 3 br 2 ba modular home on my property,  A group that I have done alot of work with this past year bought this home for me and my family and put it up on our pilings.  I just wanted to let you know what a joy it has been for us these past couple weeks by having a home once again.  The feeling is amazing to be able to get out of bed and actually move around instead of running into camper wall.

I hope things are going good for you all and TGC.  I have been keeping updated on what you got going on.  You all are amazing and I hope you keep up the great work that you are doing.  If you ever need anything feel free to let me know and you all know that I will be there.  Take care and God bless!

The Story:

...finally arriving home... we found ourselves looking at what remained of our home and our town. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!!! Homeless and unable to get out of our neighborhood, we had to seek shelter on a dock 3 doors from what remained of our home.

...5 days after being stranded, help finally arrived. One of our neighbors trying to find their home found us instead and thank God they had fuel! Finally a way out. We had only one car that was running so we divided everyone into the two cars and towed the other out, just so we didn't leave anyone behind.. We lost the one running car outside of Orlando, the strain of towing the other car was too much to bear.

... FEMA said we don't qualify for disaster assistance. We had to replace both our vehicles, get some personal possessions, pay to have what remained of our home torn down, redo our well system just so we could have water, as well as get back home to try to rebuild.

We have been turned down for every kind of assistance that we have applied for, and do not qualify for a loan from the bank because we don't make enough money and do not have enough collateral anymore. We really don't have anywhere left for us to turn. We would be grateful for any help that you could give us. Because without it we will remain homeless.
