A local disabled woman and her son were the victims of domestic violence. After finally escaping years of abuse, their family home was in shambles. This brave women reached out to over 65 organizations for help but could find none. At least until she reached out to the Giving Circle.
Members of the Giving Circle worked with this courageous women to help not only rebuild her home but rebuild her life.
The Giving Circle responded by organizing work teams to strip old carpets from bedrooms, rebuild shattered cabinetry, repair the walls in rooms and build her a new front porch. As her house returns to normal, the ongoing interaction with helpful volunteers also brings a measure of peace to her life. Sometimes letting people know you care can be just as important as rebuilding a porch, if not more so.
