The collapse of the housing boom left a carpenter unemployed and his family homeless.
The Franklin Community Center succeeded in helping them find emergency housing and a new job with a construction company. Tradesman, however, are expected to supply their own tools, hard hats, and other safety equipment. The Community Center issued a call for help because their funding did not permit them to provide these supplies to an individual.
The Giving Circle immediately responded, by taking him on a “shopping trip” to assure that he had all the resources needed to work as a skilled carpenter.
He continues working steadily for his new employer, and is paying forward by frequently volunteering for other Giving Circle reconstruction projects.
