About The Giving Circle

Helping communities and individuals in need

The Giving Circle, Inc. (TGC) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization based in Saratoga  Springs, NY. The organization was founded in 2005 by Jefferson Award honoree Mark Bertrand, with a mission to seek out communities and individuals in need and connect them with those with the resources to help.

The Giving Circle, Inc. was initially started in response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita where we worked to rebuild homes and lives in southern Mississippi. and has since expanded its efforts working locally and internationally with the underserved families in the Capital District, Uganda and Ukraine. Locally, we partner with local non-profits to provide assistance to families in need (helping the homeless, building wheelchair ramps, repairing homes, providing holiday assistance, and much more).

Internationally, The Giving Circle Africa works on projects including The Koi Koi House school residence, multiple schools, a health clinic, savings and microloan bank, farming, and much more in Uganda. Volunteers form the backbone of the organization and work on all  projects, locally and around the globe.

Support Circle Sculpture

TGC Logo is inspired by the “Support Circle Rainbow” sculpture

This visual symbol celebrates community. It suggests the possibility of a world that works for everyone. It is an expression of a loving, trustful, joyful and supportive network which creates the power and strength to accomplish the extraordinary in every aspect of life. This rainbow version, also celebrates diversity within unity.
